The Big South Island Road Trip - Week I

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

For five months we have been living in Christchurch and working hard to put money towards our big trip around the South Island. Just one week ago however, we quit our jobs and now, as we’re coming into the warm seasons we’re about to see all that hard work finally pay off.

From Christchurch we took a ‘week off’ to settle in to our new routine and bring the campervan up to scratch, fixing up little bits here and there and doing the finishing touches it needed. At the same time we were making our way towards Kaikoura and can we just say, what a beautiful town it is with it’s mountains to one side and the ocean to the other.

It’s places like this that we think are too good not to be shared with you guys and so, as of this week we’re creating a new category of articles where you can find our itinery, listing our plans for the upcoming week. We’ll post it every Sunday and then review it at the end of the week - that way you’ll be able to see if we really stuck to our plans or if instead, we simply just got stuck...

With that said then let’s get straight into it! Here’s our plans for the next week:
